ESP Charity Golf Day
October 18, 2016
On Friday 14th October 2016 ESP held their inaugural Charity Golf day, with the charity being Growers United FC.
Growers United Football Charity (GUFC) aims to raise funds for charities and communities whilst also promoting horticultural and agricultural activities within the local area.
Both suppliers and customers joined in and enjoyed an 18 hole round of golf on the International Course at The Vale Golf and Country Club.
The standard was very high, with a couple of mini completions on offer as well as the main team game.
Unfortunately the car was not won on the 14th by a hole in one – the closets shot was only 4 foot away!!
The professional was beaten by 6 people, with their names going into a hat and Dave Ashton being the overall winner of a new set of Pro V1 golf balls. Everyone who had a go against the professional paid £5 to have a go, they kept their money if they won otherwise it went to the Charity – £260 was raised from this mini completion alone.
The winners were:
1st Team - IDS Transport
2nd Team - Berryworld
3rd Team - Smurfitt Kappa
Last Team - mixed team from ESP, Lloyds Banks & Red Star Growers
Closest to the Pin - Mark Bowman, Now Plastic
Longest Drive - John Newel, Food & Produce – Pershore
Beat the Professional - Dave Ashton, Berryworld
After working up an appetite everyone retired back to the golf club for a game of Irish Bingo and a fabulous 3 course meal!
A great day was had by everyone with over £8,000 raised for Growers United
